I have been using SiteGround.com web hosting for my clients since summer 2013. It took me a while but I finally switched my personal sites over in July 2014. I highly recommend them.
SiteGround runs fast modern servers, in a reliable environment, at a fair price. Take a look at this graph, it shows the time it takes Google to pull my web pages. Download time dropped significantly when I switched from HostGator to SiteGround:
