How To Copy The Email Header

Here is the process for coping the email header from an email message. The email header contains lots of tracking information. I will need the header from the original email message, not a copy that has been forwarded. Forwarding it changes the tracking information.

  1. Go into your Gmail
  2. Open the email message
  3. Click the 3-dots menu, and then choose “Show Original”
See step #1 and #2 in the screen capture below.

  1. The Original Message window will open. It shows a summary table, followed by a large blob of code. This blob of code is the email header I am interested in.
  2. Click the blue “Copy to clipboard” button. This will copy the large blob of code so you can paste it in an email to me.
See step #3 in the screen capture below.

Start a new email message and paste the email header (blob of code) into it, and send it to me. I will analyze the header code. The analyzer can show where the email comes from, and how it was delivered to you.

The first few lines email header (blob of code) look like this. But I need the full length of it.
